“Akademia e Artit dhe Shkencës së Kinematografisë”, organizata përgjegjëse për zhvillimin e ndarjes së çmimeve “Academy Awards”, ndryshe njohur si “The Oscars” ka shpallur nominimet për edicionin e 96-të të eventit. Të nominuarit do të kenë kohë deri më datën 5 Mars ( data e supozuar për mbylljen e votimit për zgjedhjen e fituesve) për të lobuar fort mbi nominimin e tyre nëpërmjet fushatave të ndryshme publicistike, angazhimit masiv me organizatën dhe aktivitetet e saj, gjithashtu dhe me “peshkimin” e kolegëve, të cilët janë anëtar të Akademisë dhe kanë të drejtë vote.
Nominimet nuk është se krijuan ndonjë habi të madhe, pasi zakonisht emrat e lakuar për çmimet “Oscar” janë po të njëjtët me ato të “Golden Globes” apo “Critics Choice”, eventet prestigjoze që çelin sezonin e ndarjeve të çmimeve në Hollywood, i cili përfundon pikërisht, këtë vit mbrëmjen e 10 Mars-it, me natën gala të çmimeve “Oscar”.
